Mary Lockett’s work

I enjoy making art since retiring from teaching in Primary Education. I studied at Goldsmiths College, London; taking Art as a secondary subject. I have been creative from childhood, enjoying making clothes. I gained a City and Guilds qualification in Floristry after retiring and worked with flowers at Claridges’ Hotel. At the same time I started art courses at Tate Britain and City Lit. For the past four years, I have participated in online drawing courses and used bold colours. These include still life, life drawing, drawing from artists’ work and collage. I grew up in South West London and have lived in North East London for 50 years. I look forward to taking on the challenge of sketching en plein air in London.
