Marilyn Southey’s work
I joined the Drawing London Group in January 2005 and have really enjoyed our monthly meetings to sketch and paint vignettes of this great city. My love for London was instilled in me by my mother, who was a Londoner, born and bred. She thought there was no place as good on earth. I too do believe that “he who is tired of London is tired of Life!”
I have lived in Highgate, London, for the past twenty-eight years. I work in several different mediums and have exhibited my work in Highgate, and many other parts of London as well the home counties and abroad. There is a permanent showcase of my print work in the Royal Free Hospital and I have also shown work at the University College of London Hospital and in well-known London galleries including:-
- The Mall Galleries (annual open exhibitions of the Royal Society of Oil Painters, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and the National Print Exhibitions).
- The Bankside Gallery (open exhibition of the Royal Watercolour Society)
- The Royal Academy (Summer Exhibitions)
- Llewellyn-Alexander Gallery W1
- W.H. Patterson Gallery – Albermarle St. W1 (Venice in Peril Exhibition)
