Linda Mallett’s work

I was delighted to join Drawing London in 2016 and am excited to explore, with a great group of like-minded people, the inexhaustible range of subjects that London has to offer.

I have loved drawing from the earliest age. I particularly enjoy tonal drawing and prefer to work directly from life if possible. Following A level art, in the early 1970s I studied advanced life drawing part time at the Central School of Art, and have continued to relish the challenge of figure drawing ever since. I also became inspired by buildings and townscapes and was invited to show my work in London and also to hold a solo exhibition. Alongside my working life in London, and followed later by the demands of a young family in Surrey, I continued to develop my drawing and painting and undertook commissions for house portraits and other subjects in watercolour.

Over many years I have exhibited in various Surrey locations and sold work, both independently and as a member of the Leatherhead and Dorking art societies and the Surrey Figurative Artists. In 2015 one of my figure drawings was shortlisted in the Jacksons Art Coloured Pencil Competition.
